No issues with assembly for me https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" – 5'9".
@1voJan
my bike that i built in 2010 is closer to the 2018 bike than the 2008 bike
@franklee7943
That low sleek 2008 Frame is awesome,
but the 2018 Frame is way too high on the standover.
@stonedgodzilla
2008 I ordered the new Eastern Jane. Only because my 2003 Diamondback Mr Lucky was stolenπ‘ dam! I had all the shadow conspiracy after market parts and fly rims even got it powder coated neon green
@Balloutmane11
I own a 1996 GT Performer I have a review on my channel β€β€β€
@alienlodejavu9504
Phu in the pool diving aound
@BAR0NSATURDAY
I'm so glad stand over and bars came back up. There's a lot more in common with 80s and 90s bikes today and I really appreciate that.
@JDM417
All i see it's Walmart bikes. π
@eyeseayew189
In today's time, we got 2.5" tires, with the hint of 2.55" tires coming soon with the kink frame and fork as well as S&M advertising 2.55" clearance.
@penscivemage9174
hi
@krystalannawilliams2653
Your old bike was kind of expensive
@TobiasSample
Wonder how that 2018 would measure up against a 2022 bike… probably pretty similar!
@deadbenttv
what's the head tube angle or fork off set you prefer nowadays ?
@earlyculyer4103
Of course everything is bigger it's a bigger bike they're not the same scale what a bad comparison!
@foofoojergins9741
Good video
@danmcpherson1068
βThis is a 1.75ββ¦ and this is a 2.35β, basically twice as bigβ
wtf π
@pakan357
LOVE the white frame/black components combination. That's what I'm building right now with my MTB.
@leeejoynerr562
Mongoose Decade Pro: baby blue
with white mag wheels
@cyberlizardcouk
Back in the 80s we would always want to know the frame geometry, angles, bottom bracket height and everything else.
@ConsciousnessAndScience
That slayer seat is awesome
@phillipwilliams8805
But canβt you upgrade that bike for a back up bike. Lace
@SLZYPZY
Can you do an update please, 3 years later with 2.5 tires
@Aston1874villa
oh man that slayer saddle is COOL AF!!!
@TheHeadlessHorseman
I gotta weigh my 1999 haro zippo. That thing feels like a beast. I would imagine when I buy a newer bike its going to feel super light compared to it. Any ideas why they went from bigger cranks to smaller?
@LeaveNoTrashBehind
Yoooo a Slayer seat, where did you get that from???
@ryannnuneslisboa6237
Song juice wrld.
@sole__doubt
Stand over height also affects frame rigidity. The higher the more rigid the frame
@b4dt3mp3r4
I actually just revived my 2008 bmx today and then suddenly come across this video haha crazy
@emilyarelyvictor1
One is a park bike and the other a regular real bmx do it all…
@kevinz0681
Just out of curiosity what about a 82 redline pro line and Iβm 52 ? Donβt get silly anymore but love the vintage bikes.
@harrymackenzie5403
I wish BMX frames still resembled the 80's freestyle look.
@jaysonsvisions5024
Great video man. I'm riding a 2012 FIT Inman 2. Should I upgrade to a 2021 bmx? Thanks
@filthynoob1917
Pls sir give me present sir pls my parent they dont give me bike sad
@tylertripp618
Everyone watching the video: hmmm great info.
Me watching the video: hmmm gre… SLAYER!!!!!!
@UnitNo.2
My bars on my 2004 wtp I built are cut down to 23 3/4" with the bar ends lol
@blobbyboy100
Fucking SLAYEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!! π€π»π€π»π€π»
@andrewince8824
I love how my Total Hangover H3 is a hybrid looking thing. 2.3" tyres, 29×9.5" bars, top loader, 28mm offset forks, 48 spline 3pc cranks… and a 7.3" stand over. It works for me.
@eddo1983
I wish I still had my 1996 Mongoose Solution Pro.
@xroscobra8101
I have front brake mounts on my bmx (it's a diamondback but I have no idea which one)
@TownofJezza
"1.75 and 2.3 that's basically double"
"2008 so its 20 years old"
obviously you skipped math classes to ride your bike
@ssanitymusic
LLJWπ
@HoStevie
cool
@azza9423
Lol I remember my old mongoose i had when I was 10-11, pretty sure I chipped a few concrete slabs bailing off that thing.
@communism8576
Imagine having brakes…. π
@drumsavvy8224
What about 2000 – 2007 bikes..2008 – 2011 was a transitionary period..not conclusive enough for a worthy comparison
@drumsavvy8224
Hey bro not conclusive enough..some good bits of info shared on the bars and frame but what about the 50mm crank tube that certain bikes still had up to 2010 opposed to the 35mm nowadays..bigger flange on the hubs, bigger cogs, bigger sprockets..dude come on..
